The Concept

Mithras is an immersive spatial experience built around themes of crisis, belief, and transformation. Set in the year 252, the project places visitors in the role of Roman soldiers during the Plague of Cyprian, guiding them through a narrative of fear, collapse, and eventual liberation through Mithras. The aim was to turn visitors from passive observers into active participants within a mythological story world.

The Experience

The Experience

The journey unfolds through a sequence of dark, atmospheric spaces supported by projection mapping, spatial audio, and controlled lighting. In the early stages, visitors encounter the spread of the plague, social collapse, and growing despair through a linear narrative route. This emotional build-up is designed to create tension and prepare users for the final transformation.

In the final stage, the experience shifts into an interactive Mithraeum environment. Here, visitors must complete the seven initiation levels of Mithras by finding symbols, mottos, and hidden clues throughout the space. As each stage is completed, the environment gradually illuminates, turning progression into both a narrative and spatial reward.
